1. Log in to the PromoProxy Console
- Access the PromoProxy Console (hereafter referred to as the “Console”) at
https://app.promoproxy.net
. - Log in using the login information provided in the invitation email.
⚠️ Email verification is required on your first login. An “Action required” email will be sent to the registered email address. From the link in the “Action required” email, you must verify your email address and set a new password. The new password must be at least 8 characters long and include numbers, uppercase, and lowercase letters. Please note that it may take some time for the “Action required” email to arrive.
If you do not see the email, it may have been sorted into your spam folder.
We recommend configuring your email settings in advance to allow messages from @promoproxy.net
.
2. Install the Certificate for Inspection
- In the console, go to “Inspection” → “Certificate” from the left menu.
- Download the certificate by clicking “Download” for
promoproxy_cert.crt
. - Double-click the downloaded
promoproxy_cert.crt
to launch the Certificate Import Wizard. - In the certificate addition tab, change the keychain to “System” and click “Add”.
During installation, you may be prompted to enter your device password. Enter the password to proceed.
PromoProxy will not function correctly if the certificate is not imported.
3. Configure Trust Settings for the Certificate
- Open Keychain Access (e.g., search from Launchpad).
- Select “System” and then “Certificates”, and double-click
gateway.promoproxy.net
. - Open the “Trust” tab and set “When using this certificate:” to “Always Trust”.
- Close the tab and save the changes.
PromoProxy will also not function correctly if the certificate trust settings are not configured.
4. Configure the PAC File
- In the console, click “PAC File” from the left menu.
- Copy the URL of the default PAC file displayed.
- Open “System Settings” → “Wi-Fi”, then open “Details…” for the currently connected Wi-Fi.
- Select “Proxy”, enable “Automatic Proxy Configuration”, and paste the PAC file URL into the URL field.
- Ensure “Use setup script” is turned on, paste the PAC file URL into “Script address”, and click “OK”.
We recommend restarting your browser to ensure the PAC file is fully applied.
5. Connect to PromoProxy
- When you open a website in your browser, you will be redirected to the PromoProxy login screen (promoproxy-auth).
- Log in with your credentials.
- After a successful login, you will automatically return to the original site, completing the connection to PromoProxy.
The login credentials for the console and PromoProxy are the same.
If you log into the console first, and then connect to PromoProxy from the same browser, you will be logged in automatically and redirected to the original site.
If you use a different browser than the one used for console login, you will need to enter your login credentials.
6. Verify Operation
- In the Console > Dashboard, you can confirm that your data usage and request counts are increasing.
- In the Console > Access Logs, if the “Decrypted” column shows “Yes”, HTTPS inspection is active.
This completes the setup process.
